Fun facts
Ever wonder what the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus do off-season? Probably sipping cocoa and comparing fan mail. These iconic figures aren’t just local legends; they have international doppelgängers too. In Australia, the Easter Bunny sometimes steps aside for the Easter Bilby, a native marsupial hero saving the day and the ecosystem.
The Tooth Fairy takes many forms, with some Spanish-speaking kids hoping for a visit from El Ratón Pérez, an adorable mouse with a thing for molars. Meanwhile, Santa Claus goes by Ded Moroz (“Grandfather Frost”) in Russia, who shows up with his stylish granddaughter, Snegurochka (“Snow Maiden”).
Despite cultural twists, they all have one thing in common: they reward good behaviour with treats, gifts or cold, hard cash.
